PERFECT FOR YOU: How to turn your Wimbledon whites into summer night sizzlers
Posted June 22, 2012on:
From strawberries and cream, champagne and grass courts to cocktails and canapés and all night on the dance floor. Let’s show you how to work those crisp and cool Wimbledon Whites. It was a massive catwalk trend this season (white that is, not Wimbledon) and this was the perfect occasion for us to introduce it to your wardrobes. We’ve balanced out your centre court look with an array of gorgeous knits in ice cream colours (like this Burberry Brit cardi) and a pair of essential ballerinas. Think out the box when it comes to your flats, pastel colours and metallics (these are Marc By Marc Jacobs) are the perfect partner to a white dress like this figure-flattering Reiss number. I’ve thrown in a pair of aviators from Ted Baker for good measure. But what happens when the rain sets in and it’s game set and match and time to move on to a dazzling night ahead?
Here’s what you do. Well actually I’ve borrowed Sarah’s ‘Perfect For You’ email which is the one you see above. I have a fair idea of what’s in her capsule wardrobe, and taken her look from day to night with pieces she already owns. To give a bit of edge to the overall ‘pretty-pretty’ feel of the dress add a leather biker jacket like this piece from Zara. It’s similar to the one Sarah is wearing in the office today with her skinny jeans and deep blue billowing sleeve blouse. As you know we are all about multi-tasking pieces here at Dressipi so you can see the appeal of this jacket. I’ve glammed it up with Sarah’s sexy Jimmy Choos and this box clutch from Monsoon. A black clutch would give a cool touch too. Natalie x
