PERFECT FOR YOU: Those easy breezy summer pieces

Posted on: June 29, 2012

From festivals to lunch al fresco we’ve picked some key pieces that will give a laid back look that “wow” factor. For our rock chick revellers it’s all about working the right festival look with some pieces you most probably already have in your wardrobe. Go for a t-shirt with a motif or in wild prints like this one from Reiss – perfect with jeans and ankle boots post music madness. These Warehouse cut-off shorts are a must and will be perfect for beach holidays. You could go the Hunter Wellie route, but pray for sunshine and step into these Miss Selfridge skull detail sandals – perfect simply because they go with everything. Throw on one of your scarves, or snap up this just-in at Dressipi Mango high street hit.

One of the hardest looks to get right is something relaxed and stylish for the weekend. You want to keep it casual, but you also want to feel a bit put together, instead of slouching around in leggings and jumpers, or your good old favourite jeans. Nothing wrong with that either but if you’re meeting friends for lunch you’ll need a simple fail proof “throw on and go look”. We know this because so many of our users write in to us asking how to get that casual-chic balance for the weekend. Let’s take you out to lunch with some pieces that will transform your basic jeans + flats + top combo. Pick a coloured shade of denim, like these from Paige. The high street has some fabulous versions. If you’re not keen on colour try grey (we have a good pair from Banana Republic on our site at the moment). You cannot go wrong with a silky print blouse. Whistles has those timeless but on trend pieces that will span the seasons. Go for a jewelled flat or a fabulous statement leather sandal like these  Ancient Greek Sandals . A shoulder bag in a warm colour just lifts your look – and your mood. I’ve picked this one from Chloe for it’s lust-have factor. For something mid-range price wise, try this fabulous dark blue structured shopper from  DKNY. On the high street I love these box shape shoulder bags from  New Look. And there you have it, bright and breezy pieces for the summer. Natalie x
