STAR STYLE: How to go for gold like Victoria Pendleton

Posted on: August 23, 2012

Metallics. A very useful colour palette if you know how. I understand that a lot of people think “hmmmm, not for me”. But like your shape it’s all a question of balance. And nobody knows better about balance than Olympic medallist Victoria Pendleton. You try stay on those bikes at those speeds – and win a lot of medals. In metallics. Off the track we saw Pendleton out and about enjoying post-Olympic celebrations in this gold curve-enhancing bodycon dress. It’s the same one she wears in the Pantène ad.

To tone down a heavy metal Pendleton’s gone for those fabulous nude peep-toe Louboutins. This colour shows off her legs to perfection. A chic black Dune clutch completes the look (I have given you a link to a similar piece on our site). Had this been an all head-to-toe metallic look it would have been a bit too much. If on the other hand you are wearing a colour (other than metallic), we often recommend a metallic sandal or clutch to complete a perfect for you wedding outfit for example. Even if you’re afraid of a bit of shine, try it out. There is no better way to inject a bit life into a look than with a heavy metal vintage style clutch or sparkly shoe. Failing that, just do a Victoria Pendleton and go for gold. And remember to keep your balance. Natalie x
