WARDROBE WONDERS: My Zara must-haves to the rescue

Posted on: September 25, 2012

I don’t know what fashion fairy dust has been sprinkled over Zara headquarters lately but not a day goes by without there being something I would love to buy. They have just got it all so right.  I always stock up on their perfect for me leggings £19.99,  that are made from a fabulous fabric that is much thicker than those regular jersey leggings the rest of the high street does. This means it gives your shape more form and definition without that unattractive, sometimes see through, cling.

This season I have discovered and snapped up their coated trousers £35.99. They look and fit like leather effect jeans. Amazing. If you have skinny legs I would recommend going for a smaller size to avoid ‘wrinkles’. When you try them on aim to get them fitting like a legging – the fabric gives a bit round the knees etc. I have these in black and a dark navy blue. The khaki is brilliant too as it almost looks like a dove grey and if you prefer wearing chocolate browns and neutrals these are ideal. These trousers are ultra sexy. I style mine with a standard grey men’s cashmere v-neck jumper (something neutral for up top) and then add one of the season’s must-have stiletto courts…mine are pink suede – well why not!

I am lucky because I walk past Zara every morning on my way to work. This proved to be ultra lucky because I had a slight wardrobe malfunction last week thanks to a bumpy bus ride and my morning cappuccino. At least that’s the excuse I like to spin to absolve myself from doing a spot of pre-work morning shopping. That and the fact that I have had my eye on this beautiful bell sleeve  Zara dress £45.99 for some time after seeing it on my Dressipi recommendations’ page. As my fabulous black coated Zara trousers and black pussy-bow blouse had been slightly customised by coffee…it was the ideal moment to nip into Zara and snap this up. Which I did. This is a beautiful evening dress, but because I also want to wear it to work I decided to go one size up. It still fits perfectly as there is that flattering waist detail, but by going one size up it falls slightly looser around the hips. A little bit more work appropriate. I also discovered some great H&M black opaque tights . I love my Falke tights which seem to last forever, but in the process of completing my emergency ‘look’ I stumbled across these and I love them. They have a slight shine to them and quite a velvety feel on the skin. Perfect really. Natalie x
