STAR STYLE: O Milano! The glitz and glam of Milan fashion week

Posted on: September 27, 2012

You can just picture it. Strolling with that sexy sashay in your walk down the cobbled streets of a picturesque town along the Amalfi coast, hot Mediterranean sun beating down, blues skies above and you decked out head-to-toe in Dolce & Gabbana prints or whispery blue Giorgio Armani silks … or those Geisha style Prada platforms that have nothing to do whatsoever with the Amalfi Coast. That’s Milan fashion week for you. A tale of designers who create a  gorgeous fashion tableaux to capture a stylish moment in time … and those who do something completely off-piste. It’s at Milan Fashion Week that textiles speak volumes because nobody knows how to work a print better than those Italians (think Dolce & Gabbana, Etro, Missoni, Marni) and nobody knows quite how to capture that silky, luxe-looking sense of opulence and playfulness (think Gucci, Armani, Ferretti). So hot off the s/s catwalks we’ve picked up on two trends to start our fashion palette’s salivating at the thought of next season. Take those glamour shifts I spoke of when lapping up New York fashion week, and give them a sexy boost of Italian prints…and Miuccia Prada’s take on florals. (pictures: http://www.style.com)

The trouser is taking a star turn next spring/summer – what better way to flash a fluo-inspired shade. Pucci stepped away from the usual array of signature patterns with cool crisp whites. Trouser lengths are flapping somewhere just above the ankle – to balance out these proportions think heels, defined waists, layering or definition up top. Stay tuned for all the heady glamour of Paris Fashion Week. Natalie x
