What is a wintry evening without a dazzling deep jewel tone. Somehow these colours seem to sparkle and shine come party time just like the gemstones that inspire this fashion colour palette. With the party season almost in full swing save on your pennies and splurge on your style with our fashion tips. We’ve taking this chic purple Whistles dress  to three different parties by giving it three changing ‘moods’. Natalie x

I love these fingerless gloves in a cosy soft cashmere from M&S £29.50. They do them every winter in beige, grey or black and you can even snap up a pair with a bit of diamanté embellished bling, £55. The gloves fit smoothly over a regular fit sleeve and are long enough to make the perfect wrist warmers. The best part about these is the simple fact that you don’t have to remove them when sitting in your office at your desk typing blog entries…like I am doing right now. You can also find the matching cashmere beanie and scarves to complete your cosy look. Natalie x

QUESTION: I’m wearing this dress to my work Christmas party (no-one seems to dress up ultra glam!) but would like a jacket or cardigan to wear with it inside, any suggestions? My budget is no more than £50. Also, any suggestions on accessories and shoes? Same budget.

ANSWER:  A Christmas party is a great reason to dress up. Your dress is gorgeous and the fit-and-flare style will balance out your hip-to-shoulder proportions perfectly. Sticking to your budget, here are some versatile pieces that will not only help create a stylish outfit for the evening but will also fit effortlessly into the rest of your wardrobe:

1. Matalan, jacket, £20: You cannot go wrong with a chic tailored black jacket. Let your dress make the statement and keep everything else understated and polished. You have two styles listed here at varying prices. Firstly, well under your budget, from Matalan or H&M , you could go for a svelte, figure-flattering single breasted blazer. This will multi-task perfectly at the weekend with jeans as well as with countless other dresses. A cropped jacket like these pieces from Dorothy Perkins and Principles by Ben de Lisi (both at the £50 end of the scale) will accentuate your waist and sit perfectly with the fit-and-flare style of your dress.

2. Dune, black courts, £48: This is a great pair of heels with a subtle platform to keep you comfortable. I like the sweetheart detail on the foot of the shoe. Again these will be useful and versatile wardrobe staples, perfect with jeans or a stylish skirt look.

3. New look, clutch, £12.99: You can never have too many clutches. They are so easy to use and dress up any look. What’s more this will fit into your work bag so you can swap come evening time. The faux snake skin effect of this clutch mirrors the textured fabric of your dress.

4. Principles by Ben de Lisi, clutch, £15.90: You could style your look with a single striking burst of colour. I’ve selected ‘purple’ which is one of your favourites and perhaps go for a wintry berry nail varnish. But do keep the shoes and jackets to a sophisticated black. Have a fashionably fabulous Christmas party. Natalie x

It’s cold. It’s raining. It’s grey. But those little denim chambray shorts from Reiss’s 1971 range are really quite cute. And those animal print cigarette pants at Hobbs are perfect for an office wardrobe update and what about all that fresh summer tweed at Jaeger which will work a wedding look to perfection? Yes we are looking at next season’s offerings as we dodge the weather to attend the spring/summer 2013 press days, so here’s a photo-fashion roll call so far:

Being a dress person, you know my feelings about my new best Topshop bodycon dress friend as blogged last week. It’s great to see so many woman spreading the dress love. Last night I was lucky enough to sample a ridiculously delicious selection of Thanksgiving sliders by world renowned chef Wolfgang Puck at 45 Park Lane as well as a specially created Thanksgiving Cocktail. But I have to admit the first thing that caught my eye when I walked into this dream of a hotel bar was this Topshop bodycon dress in a black and white print.

It wasn’t part of the luxurious Thanksgiving menu. It belonged to one of the guests Kendra, an American Beauty Marketing Director, blogger and contributor the travel site Our Man On The Ground. I am intrigued by the fact that so many women seem to be bonding with this dress so I simply had to find out what it was that made this piece work for her…Me: “I love your dress is it from Topshop?”.

Yes and Kendra went to explain, “this dress in the States sold out twice online. I bought two. The other one has a golden brown print. I love it…it has long sleeves and falls just beneath the knees. I got it a size up so it’s a perfect run around day dress. I can wear this with a casual black hoodie. I live in black and white and then love adding pops of colour so I was so happy when I found this Topshop necklace. I always wear red lippie. This is a vintage red called Indian Red by Dior.” Kendra styled her dress with her all time favourite Frye boots, (the Veronica shortie) and that ultra-chic red Chanel clutch not to mention a fluo Topshop statement necklace which is so next season. All this discussed as I say over a luxurious selection of jewel like pumpkin pies, buttery soft mini burgers and a bespoke cocktail. Natalie x
