OUTFIT OF THE DAY: One dress two ways

Posted on: March 4, 2013

One of the big trends sweeping through the spring/summer collections is the cool laid-back chic sports luxe mood. We’ve called it Sporty Redux. The shapes of this trend can go one of two ways. For those looking for a bit of a curve booster we love the racerback style figure hugging dresses which are all very Victoria Beckham. Alternatively the lovely fluid, silky shell tops and drapey jogger style bottoms are a perfect way to balance out proportions and disguise problem areas.

In this week’s outfit of the day I’ve picked this bright orange Carven dress which has a sporty redux feel to it with a dose of the 60’s. That’s fashion for you – why go for one mood when you can have two? By day play up that sporty inspiration with this must-have Topshop leather biker jacket and style with a pair of  ‘what these old things?’ Converse trainers. Naturally being partial to a bit of leopard print myself I couldn’t resist this go-with-everything Lily & Lionel scarf. Up the vamp factor by night with a change of scenery. Leather in muted tones will work a dream to balance out bright colours. These Valentino sandals give a touch of night time animal print glamour. This particular range of Chloë Marcie bags is so beautifully understated. We have the exciting accessories website Monnier Frères up and running on Dressipi now which means you’ll find a lot of beautiful investment pieces for your wardrobe like this gold Noir Jewellery cuff. And of course you can mix day-and-night all up and throw on that black biker jacket and scarf….Natalie x
