LUST HAVES: New Look’s AW13 high street hot list

Posted on: June 12, 2013

With a whirlwind of press days behind us we can finally take a breath and start compiling our “most desired” lists for this coming AW13. Zipping through racks of clothes, it really is the most memorable that linger and the fabulous finds at New Looks recent AW13 press day leaps to mind. Next season promises a treasure trove of wishlist pieces that suit all budgets and fashionistas tastes. New Look seems to be heralding a new era with Head of Design, Catherine Thomas launching her first complete collection. For the first time in a long time the clothes live up to their ever cool shoe and accessory lines making a revisit to New Look this September a must.

For me, a few things clearly stood out. I have a secret crush on anything grunge from my Nirvana moshin’ / Perry Ellis by Marc Jacobs days and I can’t wait to relive some of it in New Look’s checked shirts, slouchy parkas and knitted Beanies. A red tweed biker jacket couldn’t be more perfect or Isabel Marant-like but at a sliver of the cost.

Embellishment and opulence dripped from the catwalks and New Look embraced this with their fabulous high street versions. Their Baboushka collection is rich in autumnal shades with layers of faux furs and intricate knits combined with jacquards and patterns oozing looks loaded with luxe.

AW 13 promises rocking party pieces dripping in sequins, studs and embellishment offering glittering looks for those with a hidden inner diva.  As always the shoes, boots and bags were truly fabulous and I have my eye on a pair of gold embellished biker boots. Punchy prints adorned scarves and studs and chains dripped from heels and ankle boots.

We can’t wait to include the best pieces on our site but be warned….. these high street hotties are sure to sell out fast so keep checking in with your recommendations to snaffle the best pieces. Tara x
