STAR STYLE: Clash your super-prints supermodel style.

Posted on: July 17, 2013

Usually going for a clash-of-the-prints-titans requires a real masterclass or two as things can go horribly wrong. You’ve seen over the last few seasons top-to-toe florals or top-to-stripes, but it’s really easy to get the print-contrast-combination very wrong. Which is why we advise to balance out your patterns with neutrals, block colour and metallics. However, every so often someone pops up with an ‘ohhh-that-looks-quirky-but-cool’ combination, a bit like marmite and cheese. And supermodel Karolina Kurkova has managed to combine a tie-dye blue and white print with a bold monochrome zebra pattern…and frankly I love it. She’s kept her separates all simple  in block colours that pick up on the colours of the patterns. This works perfectly, as throwing any other colour into the equation would have caused quite a bit of havoc. Here are a few key pieces to help you tap into this super cool supermodel street style: Natalie x

1. McQ Alexander McQueen kaleidoscope print jacket, Fenn Wright Manson blue shell top £25, Joseph across body bag £545.

2. By Malene Birger anchor print jacket £325, Topshop blue t-shirt £18, MaxMara tote £755.

3. Sigerson Morrison snake effect leather sandals £145.75, Topshop embellished leather sandals £58, Dune metallic leather sandals £49.
