WARDROBE WONDERS: How to wear your beloved bridesmaid dress again

Posted on: August 6, 2013

With wedding season in full swing, there is no doubt that thoughts always turn to what to wear to such special occasions. Deciding on what to wear as a guest is hard enough, but trying to find a bridesmaid dress which three ladies will feel happy and confident in is another matter! It was my sister’s wedding last month and I was lucky enough to be asked to be a bridesmaid along with my other sister and a friend.

What my sister, the lovely bride, wanted most of all was for us to feel beautiful on the day and to pick something versatile that we would want to wear again. In the end we went for this gorgeous silk chiffon Lucienne J.Crew dress in misty rose which couldn’t have been more perfect. I wore mine with these gold LK Bennett’s to give a nice 1920’s feel.

Now that the big event is over, I have begun to think about how I could wear this dress again for other less formal parties. We used ribbon for a pretty way to give waist definition, but for a more informal occasion I would be tempted to go for a gold belt such as this one from Mango to give a trendier feel.

My choice for a good cover up for when the nights get chillier, would be this lovely white blazer from Zara – with the sleeves pushed up, just like in the picture.

And finally, for a statement party clutch that would go just as well with this dress as it would with a pair of skinny jeans, heels and a top, I’d opt for this one from Coast. It will certainly make you stand out from the crowd if that’s what you’re looking for!

So there you have it – don’t be put off wearing those special pieces again. There are many ways to make them just as fabulous all over again!
