STAR STYLE: How to get Anna Wintour’s front row look for your shape and budget

High fashion may come and go. You might like it. You might not. Either way it influences everything that we wear even down to a particular shade of blue belt. I am referencing of course that infamous scene in the Devil Wears Prada, a film channeling our Star Style Woman:- Anna Wintour. A woman who certainly knows her fashion and her front row style. At the recent Chanel spring/summer 2014 show in Paris, Wintour sported a power tweed. There was no messing about with the structural shape of this shift. I particularly like that this blank canvas of a dress was topped off with a bold twist of embellishment thanks to the opulence of her necklace. To recreate this look I have found this beautiful tweed shift from Tory Burch on our site, but below you will see a few high street options too. Even though the Tory Burch dress has a beaded neckline I would pile on the jewels, after all more is more and sparkle is set to carry us through to next summer. Wintour’s Manolo Blahnik sandals are custom made in that go-with-everything neutral shade. There are not a lot of alternatives on the high street to this shoe. But that’s the appeal of Manolo Blahnik for you. That and the fact that his shoes are a wonderful investment and last a lifetime. To sum it all up,this outfit is understated but bold all at the same time. Work this concept into your wardrobe and you’re quite a few steps closer to cracking your very own outfitting method. There’ll be no more bad hair days for you. Natalie x

Phase Eight dress £89:- For a more relaxed feel this popular piece from Phase Eight has a lower round neckline which is flattering for those with broad shoulder proportions. If you like your dresses with sleeves, and always find it difficult to source these, Phase Eight has a very good selection (online at Dressipi )at the moment :

Oasis tweed dress £60:-Oasis is doing a fabulous range of dresses. In fact speaking of Oasis, Chanel and Anna Wintour the first time I appeared in American VOGUE (surely there will be more?) I was photographed as a “couture goer” outside the Chanel Couture show (way back) and I was wearing the most gorgeous Oasis tiered skirt and cinched-in-at-the-waist jacket. It was in that fabulous Dior powdery grey with a tiny embroidered spot. So I can see how I was mistaken for a Couture goer. In high street. This fitted tweed effect piece is going to inject just the right amount of curve into those silhouettes lacking in that department, or boost those lucky enough to have them. The piping detail at the waist acts like a highlighter and will give a sense of definition:
