STYLE ADVICE: I am looking for an outfit for a hen weekend dinner

Posted on: December 2, 2013

QUESTION: Please help! I am attending my future sister in law’s hen weekend, there are 15 of us going out to dinner.  If you could help me understand what I should wear I would be so grateful.  budget…about £100ish

ANSWER: The hen party sounds like a lovely evening and a perfect reason to buy a new outfit. As it will be in February, we’d suggest looking for something with a sleeve as restaurants can often be on the cooler side – especially if you’ll be there for a most of the evening.

1. Monsoon Dress, £59: – As red is one of your favourite colours to wear, we thought it was the perfect place to start! Choosing a dress with a fitted waistline will create a gorgeous silhouette, nipping you in at your smallest part. Dress up with a pair of jewelled earrings, or tone down with a pair of black tights and court shoes for a smart office outfit:

2. Alexon Dress, was £64 now £49: – We came across this blue dress in your ‘liked’ items which is absolutely spot on for your restaurant evening. The draped front will skim past your tummy area, whilst the low V neck helps create flattering lines. If the neckline is a little bit too exposed, pop on a printed silky scarf which will add some pattern to your outfit:

3. French Connection Dress, was £65 now £52: – If you would rather go for something a little more casual, this French Connection jersey dress is great because you can jazz it up with accessories, or wear it with black boots for a weekend chic look:

4. F&F Heels, £22: – Adding a pair of heels to an outfit completely changes your posture, slims your lines and adds a whole load of confidence! A black pair of courts are great for all outfits suggested as you can wear either nude or black tights – just make sure you go for a closed-toe style:

45. Coast Earrings, £12: – Complete your look with one piece of elegant jewellery. We adore these classic earrings by Coast as they’ll instantly add glamour to any outfit! Karen x
