STYLE ADVICE: Bought these shoes whilst my husband wasn’t looking – what can I wear them with?

Posted on: July 21, 2014

QUESTION: These Whistles sandals which I bought in 2 minutes while my husband was looking away. I’m in my early forties and like to think of myself as still being a rock shick but I’m a little bit more on the yummy mummy side at the moment. I like quality, simple, timeless types of clothes. Am tall and slim, size 10.  Budget – up to £150 without bag.
whistles-holly-silver-velcro-sandal-silver_03ANSWER: I adore your sandals, I’d love a pair myself, great tactical purchasing also! I think that simplifying ones personal style and time goes on is the best way forward and rock chic is a great choice. It means simple jerseys and denims, layering, with silk blouses, great leather pieces and tailored jackets. Here’s a few items I hope you’ll love:

1. AllSaints, Dress £88:– Grab a bargain with this edgy maxi. The slit is perfect for the summer but not too high or revealing and the body skimming, ankle length style will flatter your proportions perfectly. Throw on a leather biker for good measure, this is the perfect school run, lunch with friends or days shopping outfit.

2. Mango, Jacket now £49.99:– Having a biker jacket in your fashion repotoire is essential and if you don’t have one already, take advantage of the sales with this biker from mango. I love the textured fabric and studded detail, taking this jackets style factor up a notch.

3. H&M, Top £14.99:– Try this asymmetric top for a simple but unique option. The hem makes it that bit more special without being over fussy. It’s the perfect accompaniment for a pair of jeans and your sandals, not forgetting the biker jacket of course!

4. H&M, Jeans £24.99:– Another wardrobe essential are black skinnies, they are also perfect for your style choice and taller frame, team with a lightweight blouse and tailored jacket/blazer. The distressed black will go great with your metallic sandals. Thanks for your enquiry. We look forward to helping you out again. Sarah A x
