HAUTE/HIGH: How to cape it all off this season

Blankets. If there is one thing you have to wrap up in come the autumn/winter season it’s a blanket. Or a blanket that has been fashioned into a cape thanks to Christopher Bailey’s Burberry Prorsum show (see pics below). But of course at Burberry you get to monogram your blankie like style queen Olivia Palermo who showed hers off  a few weeks ago when she popped out for a Starbucks in thigh-high boots, shorts and a bit of Burberry.  I like the blanket trend. It’s fun, it’s quirky and it loosens up any  look from dresses to really short shorts! What’s more, you’ve always got something to fall back on – literally – if you suddenly have an impromptu picnic in the park. Actually come to think of it we have Karl Lagerfeld to thank for this blanket-as-cape trend when he showed his Chanel pre-fall collection in Texas last December and subsequently got Kirsten Stewart to feature in his ads. So you see. You simply do need a new season blankie. Which way will you wrap? Natalie x
