QUESTION: I’m going to the Sandhurst Commissioning Ball (military graduation) December this year and I need a dress, shoes and maybe a clutch. Dress code is black tie/long dress. If you can get me everything between £100-120 I’ll be happy, less than that and you’re my new best friend (Stingy is my middle name).

ANSWER: As soon as you said ball I just think of glitz, glamour and a gorgeous floor length dress. Your brief is a perfect outline to help me find some great items for your event. And with your balanced proportions there’s a lot on offer.

1. H&M, Dress £39.99:– This gorgeous dress that is easy on the wallet is definitely worth considering, slightly more sultry but definitely glamorous! The thigh high slit adds to the drama as does the chain halter neck. I especially love the cinched waist the creates a gorgeous silhouette. Style with embellished chandelier earrings. You can wear this again in the summer with a fab wedge, wide-brimmed hat and oversized sunglasses:

2. Coast dress now £76:– This dress ticks a few of your boxes with a minimalist cut and gorgeous draping across the front. The unique square neck draws the eye in whilst the drapes create a chic look. This dress is a gorgeous canvas for embellished jewellery and bold coloured accessories:

3. New Look, Clutch £15.99:– Grab this versatile clutch, slightly oversized with quilting and gold detail making it a perfect accompaniment to either dress. You’ll be reaching for this clutch for more evenings out to come:

4. Topshop, Sandals £65:– Another versatile addition to your outfit are these sandals. The perfect height for all night dancing whilst still looking uber chic. SarahAx

1. Helene Berman coat £275, 2. J Brand jeans £220,  3. Givenchy scarf £270, 4. Topshop jumper £45, 5. Kate Spade bag £245, 6. Isabel Marant boots £565.

She’s been looking ultra-glam and ultra-happy since she got married and as much as we love to see her glitzy ritzy outfits each weekend on the X Factor we quite like Cheryl’s low-key chic. Complete with glossy locks. I used to associate the hooded parka with South Park …just add a pair of Uggs and you really have got the look, but even I’ve come round to the easy-to-wear appeal of this cover-up. The point is with this blustery, rainy weather it’s the ideal casual piece…alongside one of those puffa style coats from Uniqlo. Jeans with rips in all the right places will keep you on trend and throw on a cute slogan tee with any reference to Paris for good measure. With everything in your outfit looking so achingly cool a chic pointed flat gives a touch of classic chic. Remember to keep locks glossy …because after all…you’re worth it! Natalie x

1. Topshop jeans £45, . New Look t-shirt £9.99, 3. Oasis coat £90, 4. Carvela by Kurt Geiger shoes now £39.

2looksAn outfit completely inspired by the rock chick slinky leather trouser looks that hit the A/W Saint Laurent catwalk with full force. That and these Mise En Dior earrings – the accessory du jour.A little bit of leather always works perfectly well with a little bit of silk like this blouse from Zara… (always good for high street silk). And a little bit of leather and a little bit of silk comes to life when a little touch of leopard print is thrown into the fashionable equation. Finish off with a cheeky red. Which way will you go? HAUTE: 1. Dior earrings £260, 2. Saint Laurent silk top £755, 3. 7 For All Mankind leather trousers £750, 4. Marc by Marc Jacobs bag £290, 5. Chloé flats £455.

The Halloween weekend got off to a particularly good start for us here at Dressipi as we attended the annual Retail Systems Awards with Wallis. Held at the lovely Lancaster London Hotel, we sat down to a delicious 3 course meal accompanied by free flowing champagne and some fantastic entertainment from comedian Simon Evans. Together with Wallis we were lucky enough to walk away with the Best Use of Technology for Personalisation Award, after which the champagne really started to flow!

With the dress code being black tie there was no shortage of beautiful dresses of all varieties – from ball gowns to cocktail dresses, there was something to suit all shapes and styles. We sensed a running theme amongst the Dressipi/Wallis teams, who decided to add a sparkly twist to the classic LBD with silver embellishments. On a side note, can you spot our CTO Fred’s spectacular photo bomb below?!

All these dresses looked stunning on the Wallis ladies – a crepe dress (Wallis, £40.50) for those who prefer a more relaxed fit, and a slimmer fitting long sleeve number (Wallis, £76) falling elegantly on the knee. But it wasn’t all black – we also had green lace and pops of blue (Wallis, £25) thrown into the mix.

Picture1We’d like to say a big thank you to all those at Retail Systems for putting on a fantastic evening. A great start to the party season ahead, we were proud to be part of it!

QUESTION: Hi! I think I need a few pieces to give some life to my wardrobe. But something I can wear again. Not sure where to start.

ANSWER: It only takes a few pieces to inject some fashion oomph into your wardrobe. Seasons seem to be blurring all into one these days so there are great choices that are timeless but also fun pieces that give a trend update and are also wardrobe keepers.

1. Helmut Lang dress £235: A new dress is a great way to update your wardobe. Look for versatile day-to-night pieces. The asymmetric cut plus flattering ruched details of this dress gives a fabulous update to a simple grey number…it makes a change from a classic shift style. What’s more this piece will flatter your frame and accentuate your waist. You can take it from work (think court shoe + tote + open front cardigan) to a night out (think strappy sandal + clutch + faux fur jacket). It’ll be a great travel companion too and will not date:

garment-2214581-27860812. Stuart Weitzman boots £348.61: Sometimes all it takes is a new pair of shoes to change the way everything looks in your wardrobe. By now I think every wardrobe seems to have a pair of ballerinas and some take on a biker boots stashed away! You’ll notice that everyone  from designer to high street has gone crazy for stiletto heeled ankle boots. We’re talking a wearable stiletto heel which can go from a casual jeans and  parka look to adding a bit of edge to dresses:

3. ASOS faux-fur scarf £35: One of the hot trends to emerge from the catwalks this season is wild and wonderful faux-fur – preferably in crazy colours. There are some fabulous pieces on the high street and I especially love the monochrome faux-fur bomber style jackets at H&M and Topshop. This deep green and snowy white combo will add some on-trend glamour to the quietest of outfits. It creates just the right amount of drama with a dress by cleverly altering the neckline and can be styled over a tailored coat turning it from low-key int sumptuous lust-have. If you just buy one thing make it a fun and chic accessory like this:

4. Boden clutch bag £69:- We love a clutch bag here at Dressipi. If you are not  after an investment handbag this season a clutch in a hot shade, wild print or dazzling metallic should scratch that “I need a new handbag” itch. Each season Boden does a simple range of clutch bags in an ideal size for use by day with a more casual look as well as for the evening. Just because you’re having a bit of fun with your accessories doesn’t mean they won’t style-travel from one season to the next. This deep blue glittery piece is a wardrobe keeper – and the fact that all that glitters is not gold in this instance, means it is perfect for spicing up what I like to call those ‘I’ve just popped out to get a coffee’ looks.

5. Zara jacket £89.99:– Zara really is brilliant with their bouclé jackets. This piece combines a capsule wardrobe must-have style  – the biker jacket – with the must-have bouclé. You can clash this over a contrast print, jazz it up with your faux-fur pr keep things stylishly neutral with low-key greys and blacks. It’s the perfect throw-on-and-go piece! I hope that this has given you a fresh take on your existing wardrobe. Natalie x
