OUTFITS: A few timeless wardrobe basics

Just because it’s basic doesn’t mean it’s ‘blah’. What it means is that these pieces will slip perfectly into your existing wardrobe without so much as a whisper happily mixing-and-matching into outfits from casual to evening. The classic trench always makes a much needed appearance at the beginning of the year and a sleek black version is a fabulous alternative to the usual stone colour.  You obviously agree as this Hobbs piece is our most liked coat this week. Breton stripes are to fashion what french fries are to burgers – a happy pairing. The high street does a spot-on selection of tops and tees in our favourite must-have print. We’ve pushed the boat out with this luxury cashmere jumper. Skinny jeans really aren’t going anywhere – but thankfully waist lines have been going upwards to a more comfortable and always flattering mid-rise. Take your comfy and stylish pieces on an evening out with this all-year-round embellished gold clutch and a 24/7 chunky gold bracelet. See – bling is a very important basic too! Ballerinas? If you must, but a more structured flat with a decidedly Marie Antoinette feel will bring your wardrobe stylishly into 2015. Natalie x
