QUESTION: Hello! I have fallen in love with this ASOS dress £85 and would love some advice on what to wear with it, particulary a cover up (jacket, coat) to keep me warm in the winter.

ANSWER: That is a great dress from ASOS Premium collection and channels the Folky 70s spirit of the season. What’s more it is a really great high street take on the designer folks dresses causing a fashion frenzy. Here are some suggestions we hope you will love:

1. Whistles jacket £295: A biker jacket is the perfect day-to-night cover up for this dress and any other look casual or glitzier. It will give a contemporary edge to the romantic boho feel of the dress. We see that Whistles is one of your favourite brands. This leather jacket will be a true wardrobe investment – and the high street does some great styles too. Style with an ankle boot that has a bit of a Western spin, like these from Zara £69.99, or a pair of Adidas Stan Smith trainers £70 by day.

2. Missguided heels £40: For evening, balance out the full volume of the dress with a pair of killer heels. One of the season’s on trend 70’s style platform sandals would look great or contrast the boho feel again with a vampier gladiator style sandal. This pair will look fabulous with a pair of skinny jeans and an oversized chunky knit jumper for date night : thumbnail-2986126-41703933. Topshop faux-fur gilet £65: – Faux-fur has come of fashion age. It has had a fabulous make-over thanks to luscious colours and bold prints. This dark green will work well with the embroidery on the dress and channels the boho trend perfectly. Style with knee-high boots and suede fringed bag to really get into the spirit. Topshop also has a longer line mid-thigh gilet in black with a waist-cinching belt. A tan sheepskin gilet will really work that nomadic folkloric 70’s spirit:

4. Zara coat £119: – Coats are cut longer and roomier this season – as if you’ve borrowed from the boys. This concept will work a dream with the dress. I like the military style feel of this Zara coat. It’s timeless and if you are going to buy outerwear no matter how much on-trend it is, it’s good to look for pieces that will stand the test of time season after season: Natalie xthumbnail-2930894-4080079
