If you’re looking in your wardrobe thinking “I’ve got nothing to wear”, there’s no need to go out on a shopping spree – unless of course you want to. Think of ways to rework those staples, like a pair of day-to-night tailored black trousers, with a trend update. Tops are a great way to dabble in a catwalk mood especially since this season sleeves are all about statement details. This piece from Zara combines a nod to the sleeve trend as well as spring summer’s take on all things striped. Don’t stop there. Make a bit of noise with your earrings. Suddenly those staples have taken on a new style life of their own, haven’t they? Natalie x

2017-01-27-one-look-rtOversized duvet dressing is just the thing for these sub-zero temperatures we’ve suddenly been experiencing. Luckily there are some gorgeous takes on this cumbersome but cosy sounding trend. New Look has some fabulous oversized cropped puffa jackets in every colour from cobalt blue to moody burgundy. This boxy shorter style gives a neat ‘n sweat feel. Remember to balance out volume with a slimmer fit jean or trouser. Statement cuffs are still going strong and this jumper combines a sort of newish trend with a wardrobe staple – the horizontal stripe. I like these Topshop sunglasses. They feel very Tom Ford but at a snip of the price. There are still some good deals to be had in the sales, these Dune boots are timeless, and that slinky stiletto heel will style up one of your favourite day dresses for a chic evening look. Natalie x

What to wear to a wedding used to be a really specific thing: coat + dress + headpiece and all the rest. Today it seems anything goes, which can be hugely confusing. Then again it opens up the style floor to many more options. Take this silk LK Bennett dress. It actually falls just above ankle length so it’s not as maxi as it seems. It’s the perfect piece for a black tie event but it will also double up for a ‘think- out-the-box’ occasion look. If you want to invest in a headpiece that will work its away across numerous occasion outfits then look for something in a neutral tone. Don’t think you have to keep it low-key though. This made-to-order piece from Jess Collett has that gorgeous feather detail for a true statement touch. Natalie x

2017-01-23-1dress-2ways-rtIt’s been a while since we paid any attention to the humble ballerina what with sports luxe trainers, tie-around-the-ankle ghillies and cool kid skate shoes. Somewhere on the fashion agenda these last few months, the ballerina suddenly reappeared. It’s the perfect dress-down piece to a dress-up look. Especially if it comes in an animal print or a cool metallic. This Reiss dress ticks all the right evening and occasion boxes. Add a neutral leather tote and must-have ballerina and it’ll double for day too. Talking of shoes, there is quite a sale going on at The Outnet and these Nicholas Kirkwood heels are a great investment. What are you waiting for? Natalie x

There are so many fabulous new accessories out on the high street now it’s hard to pick which style direction to go in. But, here’s a start: embroidery. Thanks to Valentino it’s time to turn to the magical creations of needle and thread. From biker jackets to denim, there’s no stitch left undone when it comes to embroidered florals. These Topshop flats are will jazz up simple paired back looks for a cool casual style. Don’t stop at the shoes, why not add a clash with a stud detail bag. Tuxedo jackets are key 24/7 wardrobe solutions and a good investment if you’re looking for something to make you from weekend to wedding. The high street has some perfect styles like this piece at H&M, £34.99 or this wool piece by Jigsaw now £160. Take your pick! Natalie x

Those statement sleeves that we saw for autumn/winter are here to stay. There’s a slight twist and variation – think a little more structured and a little less frilly – but overall it’s still all about the cuff. A basic jersey stripe t-shirt dress gets a style make-over with this new detail. Balance out the drama with paired back trainers and add use a cross-body bag to bring colour into the mix. Natalie x

1.Warehouse dress £59, 2. Miu Miu sunglasses £180, 3. Fiorelli bag £50, 4. Adidas flats £97

Just because we got all excited about velvet last season doesn’t mean to say you have to kiss goodbye to one of our favourite fabrics now that the new trends are rolling in. Whilst it’s the ideal mood for evening glamour, a little basic grey t-shirt here plus a run-around flat there and you’ve reworked last season into a this season ultra-chic daytime look. Tuxedo jackets are going to start reappearing faster than you can blink – which is a good thing because this wardrobe investment is a great day-to-night and night-to-day fashion piece. Miss Selfridge has given a fabulous floral brocade spin to theirs whitewall work a dream with a pair of jeans as well as your little black dresses. Natalie x
