If you can find that one dress that keeps you cosy by day and super-stylish by night it will become one of the most worn items of clothing in your wardrobe this winter. I’m not talking super glitzy or a major designer either. As I write I am wearing a stretchy bodycon jersey dress that I bought from Topshop a few years ago. I’ve styled it with my trusty biker boots and an oversized faux-fur scarf from Zara. When the chill sets in this dress comes out. By night I will whip on a pair of killer heels, snap up a clutch, hang on to the fur, add some bling and I’m good to go. This grey dress by Whistles will do just the same. It looks deceptively simple… but it’s not …You have options! Natalie x

2015-10-20-1-dress-2-ways-RTHave fun with layers when it comes to thinking of stylish day looks. Use a day-to-night LBD as your base and build up your fashion story around this perfect template. Clash bold colours bolds a modern art inspired feel. When it comes to neutrals think textures and tones. The season’s 70s suedes and global traveller inspired textures lend themselves perfectly to this. Buckle up in a boot and accessorise with a pair of sunglasses. Natalie x

Wardrobe basics are key investments in spite of the ‘basics’ tag and a plain grey top is never really just a plain grey top. The versatile nature of this basic means you can dress it up or down and it’s the perfect piece when layering. Higher necklines are having a moment but if this is not one of your must-haves simply snap up a classic v-neck or round neck tee/long sleeve top in a chic grey. From sequins to brocade, velvet to embroidery there are a lot of fabulous textures to play with for evening looks. Balance out the opulence of these fabrics with this jersey top – if you don’t want to go for full on glamour that is…in which case please don’t hold back! Natalie x

The fashion world has finally left the exiting s/s 2016 catwalks of Paris. From the four major style cities we’ve seen wild colour combinations and exquisite prints, intricate textiles and fanciful detailing and some quite interesting footwear. It’s safe to say the Birkenstock or anything that sort of resembles it has been amped, ramped, revamped and turbo-charged for next season. We also had glitzy wellies at Saint Laurent’s Glasto Girls fest. But that’s next season. For a respite from that fabulous sensory overload of things to come, here’s a bit of a palette cleanser: monochrome. Well, just a little hint of monochrome. Throw in one of your favourite primary colours into the mix to style this trend with a contemporary spin. Did I tell you that primary colours are all the rage next season.  Hard to keep away from s/s16. Natalie

2015-09-17-one-trouser-two-ways-RTColoured knits lift any work wardrobe and this season expect to see more perfect-for-work jumpers in on-trend cable knits and classic fine knits. I have to say Zara is doing a fabulous range of structured bags this season, particularly these moc-croc styles. This inky navy shade is surprisingly versatile and has an opulent air of luxury to it. For evening double up on the decades with a shimmery 70’s glitter bomber jacket and that throw-back to the 80s – thanks to Donna Karan – the bodysuit. I love the art deco shade of Lulu Guinness’ lips clutch. It tones down the glitz and amps up the glam. You can take these desk outfit pairings and style with your other capsule wardrobe separates such as skirts or jeans. Natalie x
