pick-n-mix-150703-RTThe black trouser is a classic capsule wardrobe separate. Up-style this ideal blank canvas with a sweepstake of the summer sales. There are some great bargains still to be had from high street to designer. Inject colour and print for a sizzling night out. Leopard print is here to stay for next season so anything you can snap up now will carry you through. Shoes are a great sales investment. Look for glitzy evening sandals and anything with a 70’s flavour a trend that will keep on giving. Keep things sleek and cool with a 24/7 white blazer. Natalie x

pick-n-mix-150616-RT-toSQv2Everything’s a little temperamental at the moment and by that I mean the”weather”. So when things are temperamental the best thing to do is give yourself choices. Because things can blow hot and cold. This is where layering up is always a great style option. In the grand scheme of things layering up when it comes to dressing really just means investing in a great go-with- everything cardigan. Something you can slip under a jacket and over a dress. It will carry you through the day with all that on-off hot-cold situation that is going on at the moment. It will dress down a dress that you would otherwise have thought is something just for a smarter occasion. Nothing is ever really just for smarter occasions (unless it’s a ballgown or an ultra-bling number) because you can always knits to tone things down. Shoe wise, you’ll need something closed and if you want a welcome break and modern update from the run-around-ballerina then these ghillies (that’s what they are called) are the shoe of the season all thanks to the likes of Isabel Marant. They are a little high maintenance thanks to the ankle straps but the high street has some fabulous numbers so you can give them a whirl. Use your clutch bag by day especially if it something a little less structured and has a shoulder strap. And there you have it – you’ll be prepared for all temperamental hot-and-cold eventualities in the course of 24hrs. Natalie x

Florals! A trend that seems to always be on-trend whether it’s an autumn/winter bloom or a spring/summer blossom. Catwalk trends sometimes feel like they don’t ever change. What does change is the way you wear them. This season, floral prints have a much more indulgent and exotic flavour to them…and so should the way you style them. Go for gold with a luxe layering of colours and textures. The print on this DKNY dress is not your average spring/summer spring. The neon yellow highlights are perfectly accentuated with this plush coloured coat and either of these jewel tone bags. Chandelier earrings turn up the volume…and why not? Natalie x
