Paddington Bear has really turned red carpet chic on its head and heel. At the premier for the hotly anticipated movie of the world’s all time favourite bear, Julie Walters sported the requisite glitzy dress complete with an iconic blue duffle coat. “The invitation said dress code: Paddington Bear chic,” she told GMTV. What could be more stylish than Paddington Bear chic?!  Which got me thinking about the cool duffle coats on the high street and designer end too. Burberry has, as usual, got this look polished down to a marmalade high tea with a gorgeous navy blue duffle coat. For a literal take, this Hobbs coat is spot on and yes why not throw it over a long beaded evening gown! Give a glitzy evening-by-day twist to the whole mood with this gorgeous metallic duffle coat from Topshop. I’ve thrown in a fluo sheepskin bag as an extra little nod to our fury friend. Natalie x

Transitional. It’s just so in between. Potentially a bit ‘blah’. Which might be a reason why we recieve so many requests for style advice that go something along the lines of: “I never know what to wear for a more casual look”, or, “I’m tired of looking like a bag lady at the weekend in my bobbly chunky sweater and old saggy jeans”. So suddenly you see “blah” has the potential to be a bit more “oh la la”. The pieces in this week’s emails may be all about those versatile basics but as “fit and flatter” is the essence of Dressipi these basics create a fabulously stylish off-duty look no matter what. All you need to do is use this outfit as a blank canvas and simply pencil in the extras like a cool scarf or your favourite accessory.

We’ve talked you through your ‘perfect for you’ jeans, and a great fitting bit of denim will already make half of a stylish casual look. Jumpers are quite a focal point this season. In fact like statement cuffs and statement bags knitwear’s come into it’s own for autumn/winter all thanks to the trophy jumper. Think fun motifs like owls or cats, extra chunky knits, wild colours intertwined in mad woven patterns. So  your basic does not necessarily have to be low key and you may prefer this  ASOS trophy jumper £35. On the utterly versatile front there is something about the colour grey that makes it the ‘white’ of winter. I think every wardrobe needs this Zara v-neck jumper £19.99 or something similar in grey. It’s the LBD of jumpers. Nobody does high street cashmere quite like M&S. In fact I wish they would sell their cashmere all year round (M&S cashmere jumper £149). The best bit about M&S cashmere is that it is perfectly machine washable, so you won’t end up with a high street piece that costs you more in dry cleaning bills than you actually paid for it in the first place. This Boden cable knit jumper £51.90 is chunky enough to keep you cosy but also has just that right amount of cable to layer over shirts without getting too bulky.

In addition to the gorgeous flats recommended to you this week, there are a few extra pieces to add to your easy-chic outfit. As I said, consider your transitional look the ideal blank canvas. You can ‘colour’ it in a with a few extra accessories like this Topshop animal print scarf £15 or a cute Moschino Cheap and Chic beanie £49. Alex Monroe’s gold charm necklace £149 will add a bit of subtle shine but then again so will this New Look stack ring £4.99. Happy and stylish weekend. Natalie x
