Dress looks are just about manageable without a pair of black opaque tights which by now we are all desperate to ditch. Turn this shocking pink dress with it’s on-trend ruffle details   into a stylish day look with these capsule wardrobe basics: the humble denim jacket and must-have ‘fashion’ trainers. If trainers aren’t your thing switch for an animal print ballerina or a pair of ankle tie pointed flats. Natalie x

A dress that’s the perfect blank canvas is a great investment piece for your wardrobe. This navy blue fit-and-flare update on the shirt dress can take you from a weekend lunch (white skate shoes or a tan wedge) to a wedding guest or evening out look. Play around with your accessories. Add bold brights for a summery feel or stick to metallics for a touch of evening glamour. Natalie x

Make more than one statement with this power pairing of key accessories and a chic little black dress. An animal print heel is a great wardrobe highlight piece. Use it to add an element of interest to a casual jeans and basic tee look, or to vamp up a sleek day-to-night lbd. You can do the same with a statement clutch and pair of lust-have drop earrings. At the autumn/winter collections in Paris this week one of the biggest trends to emerge is the “no rules” approach when it comes to day or night dressing. It’s glamour all the way with heavily embellished or opulently patterned floor sweeping evening dresses being styled with fur trimmed slides or the shoe of the season a flat black leather ankle boot, preferably a lace-up or military style. Closer to home have a look at some of your favourite party pieces and see if you can give them a dress-down spin with a casual trainer. Look for oversized evening clutches in leather or suede for that bit of edge. Natalie x

Make it a frill with a spill when it comes to spring/summer dressing. It’s all about the one-shoulder dress with a bold ruffle detail, a perfect twist to take you from day-to-night, beach-to-bar. This seersucker style from J.Crew also comes in a sugary pink. Channel some of that retro style with a platform sandal and oversized sunnies. Step it down with metallic flat sandals or espadrilles and a pom-pom embellished straw tote. Natalie x

Fashion’s gone back to the 80’s which is not entirely a bad thing especially if you pick out a few consumer friendly pieces. Like a slinky stiletto court. It’s the perfect little pick me up to a sleek and chic jeans look. You’ll find similar fabulous bright red suede styles at Mango £35.99 and Whistles £140. You could switch your statement courts for a statement chandelier earring instead to channel that 80s power vibe …or do both!
