Rustle up something casual for a cosy weekend lunch with friends. Spice-up those comfy boyfriend jeans (Paige Denim) or mom jeans (Topshop) with a statement animal print heel and on-trend tassels. A versatile grey v-neck jumper is a capsule wardrobe must-have. If lunch turns into dinner your suede clutch will give your outfit that touch of evening chic. Which way will you go? Natalie x

2015-08-06-haute-high-2-looks-RTI never thought that I was quite into all those longer line waistcoats that have been on the shop floors for a while. That is until I was on the bus the other day and saw a girl in her skinny jeans, fashion trainers and one of these waistcoats that went all the way down to just below her knees. She accessorised her look with an oversized structured tote and a chihuahua. It wasn’t the dog that sold me on this look. Sometimes you really need to see these pieces in action. It all just looked really sleek and fresh and especially since her outfit was styled with a sleeveless top as opposed to anything longer. This is a good way of styling something loose with something fitted to get a great play on proportions. H&M does a fabulous range of 100% silks and this top will come in handy 24/7 rain or shine. The new season sees a huge 80s revival from slinky dinky glitz and flash to the more demure iconic loafer. These animal print and metallic penny loafers give a great modish flavour to your look and will work perfectly with a denim mini skirt and black opaque tights when the chill sets in to stay. Just add zero. That seems to be the difference between designer versus high street prices these days. But price wars aside, the biker boot has grown up. Well upwards. Thanks to a heel. I first saw this a few seasons back at Jimmy Choo and Burberry. I like that Jimmy Choo repeats their timeless styles, whether it’s a court shoe or a biker boot, because that is the point of timeless, investment fashion. Gianvito Rossi really is the hot-to-trot shoe designer of the moment. By comparison these leather Zara boots are pretty much on tap. This heeled style is not only perfect with skinny or slim fit jeans but also with a great dress, whether midi or mini, and opaque tights. If you don’t work in a corporate environment it means that when it is raining and you have a meeting where you want to look sharp, you won’t have to do the flats-to-heels switch. They give outfits a bit of leverage – literally. Which way will you go? Natalie x

Soooo… is this how the female version of Mark Zuckerberg dresses? According to upcoming movie The Intern starring Anne Hathaway as founder of a fashion website who brings in Robert De Niro as her intern, it is. Whether you’re running your tech empire or simply looking for a sleek laid back look, a flippy leather skirt (as opposed to a more structured pencil skirt) is the perfect place to start. You’ll find some great pleat detail ones with longer hemlines at DKNY. This season you can contrast your textures by pairing leather skirts with one of the must-have statement knits, worn oversized or fitted and a pair of block heeled knee high boots. Take your pick. Alternatively a relaxed jersey tee and off duty hi tops gives just the right amount of entrepreneurial cool. Natalie x
