The humble shirt dress gets a prints make-over with this fabulous dark green number from Warehouse. Wear your belt cinched in at the waist or draped and tied gently at the bigger for a looser fit. Blend in contrasting greens with your accessories. These Zara lace-ups are a great new take on summer flats. Natalie x

Velvet has always been a festive season look. But this year it’s been given a real style reboot as one of the key catwalk trends, and not necessarily just reserved for party looks. There is nothing more indulgent than a plush velvet dress that sweeps all the way down to the floor. This DVF number is a real show stopper. You might also like something like this from the Reformation £315 or this dark purple dress from Wallis £35. Velvet lends itself to all things sparkly like these glitter accessories. You can also go for 100% opulence and style with jewelled bags or shoes and glitzy jewelled chandelier earrings. Natalie x

Channel your inner eccentric by mixing deep jewel tones and our favourite all season animal-print. A faux-fur coat will work your wardrobe 24/7. This Topshop dress also comes in a hot pink shade which you could style with a purple clutch or clash with a bright red bag which is all very next season. H&M does a great range of 100% leather accessories like these gold courts. Don’t forget the bling! Natalie x

Ever since the glamorous day dress became a ‘thing’ a few years back, our wardrobes have been going that extra style mile thanks to these versatile pieces. If you have those days where you are over wearing jeans for a casual lunch with friends, then restyle one of your occasion dresses with low-key accessories and shoes for a fabulous day look. These paired black ultra plain leather flats sandals were a hit on the spring/summer catwalks. Their sleek simplicity plus quality leather give a cool urban edge to this gorgeous dress (which also comes in white or black). Sticking to clean styles and soft leather add a slouchy Hobo style day bag and wrap around bracelet. Off to dinner? Switch from chic blacks to fresh whites tinged with gold. Natalie x

Planning a weekend break in the sunshine? Soak up the sunshine in a gorgeous bright maxi dress. This piece is channeling the Spanish Influences trend with its flouncy off-the-shoulder ruffle detail and that flamenco lipstick red. A gold heel and clutch will make this an eye-catching evening number. By day, versatile neutral shades are the perfect balance. Create even more definition by looping this rope leather belt around the waist. You could do the same with a slinky gold chain belt like this piece from Topshop £16. I put these wedge sandals in because they are a great summer style and are on sale at The Outnet. You might also like this red crochet sundress from ASOS £38 or this spaghetti strap red maxi from M&S £29.50. Natalie x

If you’re not really a dress person there are some great options to occasion outfitting. I have said it before, coats have come into their own and it really is all about the statement coat. In Paris at Fashion Week a casual pair of jeans and all those sporty trainers were elevated to fashion status and street style appeal (some  looks a bit daft I have to admit) thanks to a statement coat. Coats are also a great way to wear a print. Keep everything else neutral and plain. This waist defining jersey top is ultra-flattering thanks to the gathering details but also those soft drapes. It also comes in navy. You can style this shape with a pencil skirt too. Ivory coloured trousers ooze elegance don’t they? Turn this into a casual summer look with a tan wedge heel and your favourite tee or a kaftan style print top. Add a statement necklace for maximum appeal – this one perfectly matches the colours of the coat. Finally – every wardrobe needs a go-with-everything metallic sandal. It will get you out of any occasion wear style rut. Natalie x

When Zara does a good bouclé jacket it’s worth snapping up pronto. This chic piece has just popped up in store and online and with it’s black bow detail (which you can wear loose and untied), the gold buttons and the bracelet length sleeves it’s the ideal casual to work to occasion piece. So many times women tell me they feel that when it comes to their casual looks they tend to err far to much on the side of casual and less on on the side of chic or cool. If this sounds like you a jacket like this will transform your wardrobe. On the school run? Popping out for a quick weekend shopping trip? Coffee with a friend on Sunday? Throw on this jacket – it  will add that extra edge to your low-key looks. It will also give that final polish to occasion and evening dressing. In fact for an evening of drama style this with a floor-sweeping skirt (J. Crew has some fabulous ones), bodysuit (see these cold-shoulder one at Topshop) and gold chandelier earrings (River Island). Natalie x
