Crisp linens, cool blues, splashes of animal print, glimmers of gold…thinking ahead to summer dressing and this is a winning fashion formula. This dress would work just as well with a dose of vibrant hued accessories – if that’s your thing. Any spring/summer events that involve gardens, lawns, polo fields or river banks could do with a stylish wedge as opposed to a slinky stiletto heeled sandal. Slip into a jewelled flat sandal or on-trend slide, grab a canvas tote, add oversized sunglasses and you’re holiday ready. Natalie x

2016-02-02-one-look-RTA little forward planning never hurt especially when it comes to dressing for any special occasions that you might have lined up. This dress from Topshop caught my eye with it’s opulent jacquard fabric and royal blue hues. The fit-and-flare prom style coupled with a below the knee length makes it the ideal piece not only for any evening events but for all those spring weddings too. There is an ultra-modern cut-out detail at the front of the waistband. It’s not very big, more peekaboo, so it’s a small detail as opposed to something too revealing. Style with a black textured jacket like this tweed piece from Iro which also comes in a versatile ivory shade if you prefer. I have kept the heel black, but a pop of clashing colour would look fabulous too.  Break up all those dark shades with an ivory headpiece. Add a jewelled ear cuff to complete the look. Natalie x

star-style It’s all about the felt hat this season – floppy and wide brimmed, or structured and mannish like an oversized fedora. It’s also about leather leggings, and trousers. So really like most seasons it’s about a lot of things. Supermodel Rosie HW is looking breezy and chic in her low-key but luxe looking airport chic ensemble. I love this longline cardigan as a coat alternative, especially if you are travelling. You can wrap up in it like a comfy blanket. The high street has done a great take on the hats trend and you’ll find some gorgeous pieces at the likes of H&M, River Island and Tophop. These hats are a fabulous way to give an outfit an instant swishy update. Finally slip into your leathers…and you’ve got supermodel style on a budget. Natalie x

QUESTION: I have been invited to New Market for the races on Friday as a guest of my husband’s clients. Summer racing I would dress like a smart wedding, but haven’t a clue how to manage autumn races. Could go shopping this afternoon and would spend up to £200 if it was something I could wear for work / occasions afterwards.

ANSWER: Thanks for your request and your pic! With that in mind here is a look we hope you will love.

1. Michael Michael Kors dress £165:  This red (one of your favourite colours) dress also comes in black or in a blue and white print. Just so you know. It really is a great flattering 24/7 piece and has been styled on all those fabulously versatile Issa dresses. The soft draping skirt will skim over your tummy area and the self tie will smooth over the waist line. You can style this for work with a waterfall cardigan and take it to an occasion with gold strappy sandals and a little gold or black clutch. It will also work a dream for a casual look with flat boots and a faux-fur gilet (H&M has some great inexpensive ones).

2. Mango jacket £39.99: The weather is threatening to warm up this weekend so one of the season’s must-have bouclé jackets would look great with this – and perfect with jeans a t-shirt and ankle boost afterwards:

3. H&M felt hat £14.99: You could go the full-on occasion headpiece route or snap up one of the season’s must-have wide-brimmed hats for something a little bit different:

4. Mango bag £24.99:  We love a great clutch. It’s the perfect way to complete this outfit but also a must-have wardrobe accessory for the upcoming party season. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on an evening bag as the high street has some fabulous numbers. This piece could double up for a smart-casula day look. I hope this has given you some style inspiration. Have a great day at the races. Natalie x

QUESTION: I have a wedding to go to and I have no idea what to wear.

ANSWER: Wedding season is now in full swing and here at Dressipi we just love all the gorgeous, summery yet polished looks that come along with it. With that in mind, here are some ideas we hope you will love:

1. Coast dress, £75: – Hot brights are just that this season…hot! We think this bold pink dress will look amazing with your colouring, and the v-neckline will draw the eye downwards and away from your broader shoulders. Ruching detail is super flattering for your figure and a demure hem line is ideal for a wedding. Add a tailored white jacket if you fancy a cover up. This dress will double up as the perfect evening piece too; just switch up your accessories.

2. Coast clutch, £45: – Sticking with the ‘brights’ theme, this contrasting yet extremely simple clutch will provide just the right balance of chic and fun, trend-driven style:

3. Dune sandals, £65: – Another trend to channel this season is the ‘metallics’ trend. Adding metallic accents to your bold outfit will create a sophisticated overall look that is perfect for a special occasion. The low heel on this pair of silver sandals will make for great dancing later on in the evening!

4. Adele Marie, £25: – We ladies love a bit of sparkle from time to time, and when better to feel at our most glam than at a wedding. We love this stunning pair of drop earrings.

5. BHS fascinator, £15: – If you fancy some head gear on the big day, why not opt for a subtle but chic fascinator option, like this silver one from BHS? We hope you have a fabulous time at the wedding. Ria x

We’ve been talking quite a bit about dark, broody colours for autumn/winter, but those soft cloud-like pastels that we usually associate with spring and sunshine are here to stay. You only have to look at the huge amount of fuss that’s been made about those pale pink coats at Zara and M&S (already sold out, we’ll tell you when it’s back in stock) that are all soooo Celine, not to mention the wisps of pale blue too. The key to wearing a winter pastel is to dilute all that sugary prettiness with the season’s heavier and broodier (there you have it again) shades. Don’t be afraid to mix black with pink and accessorise with a metallic stud detail here and there. Navy, the new black, is a great partner to those soft blues and whispers of grey. This is a perfect way to start merging your summer and autumn wardrobes. Natalie x
