Is it a bird, is it a plane, is it for day, is it for night? It’s time to rethink your ‘what to wear to work’ style. Unless you work in an environment that requires a particular dress code or a uniform, workwear has really eased up on its power suiting rigidity. With the spring/summer catwalks mixing up all things day and night, take inspiration and make your pieces go just that little extra bit further. Step out of the white shirt zone and pick a blouse with added detail – a statement sleeve, a stylish print, a hint of embellishment. You can apply the same rules to white shirts. Metallic statement earrings are not just for evenings, use them to add that little something extra to your Monday to Friday work chic. Natalie x

2016-11-01-one-look-rtOne of the most popular items of knitwear at the moment is the slinky black roll neck jumper. It has a 60’s feel to it and slips easily under slinky slip dresses as well as tucking perfectly into trousers and jeans without adding bulk. These Zara heels have an on-trend block heel, show them off by styling with ankle length trousers and jeans. Don’t play it safe when it comes to accessories, you have the sleek template of black trousers + black knit, so amp it all up with a statement earring and small bag with big glitz. Finally, blend in an autumnal hue with this gorgeous teal Hobbs jacket. Natalie x

Sharpen up your looks with some of the season’s finest tailored pieces. Greys and checks were a key tailoring trend on the catwalk for autumn/winter and this single breasted jacket from H&M ticks all the boxes. A stylish grey v-neck jumper is the perfect wardrobe basic. This one from Uniqlo is in a soft cosy cashmere and M&S always does some great cashmere pieces. Go bold with your shoes…why not! Natalie x

That summery atmosphere is filtering into the air, we’ve got the Chelsea Flower Show in full swing, an upcoming long weekend and a bit of sunshine. What better way to soak up this mood than in a bright coloured dress that channels all the glamour of The Talented Mr Ripley with it’s waist-cinching tie detail and romantic full skirt. It’s the perfect dress-up or dress-down number. Natalie x

Basically this is just a jeans and sweat top look …but those little added extras colour it all in and add a fun dimension to it, taking your outfit from weekend basic to weekend chic. Let’s start with the top. Slogans are still going strong and if this cotton style from Boden greets you and everyone you meet with a “hello lovely” every time you wear it, what’s not to love? Onto the shoes. Adding a bright colour or one of your favourite prints gives a pinch of stylish spice to jeans outfits. What’s more, you get to really show off these heels thanks to the roll-up hem on the jeans. Try the same with a pair of flats if heels for a weekend-lunch look is not your thing. Style with a leopard print trainer or ballerina, or opt for a hot hue. See what a difference it makes? A chunky gold charm bracelet adds that finishing touch and you might like this one from Tommy Hilfiger (50) or this cute Kate Spade bracelet (now £35). Natalie x

I must admit, this blog post came about the moment I saw these leather Banana Republic sandals go live on Dressipi. I think they are fabulous and come the warmer weather will be the perfect heel for work as well as spicing up those casual weekend looks like I’ve done here. They remind me of a pair of Manolo Blahniks I was lucky enough to be able to buy at a sample sale many years ago. They are my favourite shoes…and so comfortable they’ve become my airport shoe. These long drop earrings from Topshop are the new earring style of the season. Have a look at your home page tomorrow for a round-up of the best ones on the high street. M&S has some great styles with pearls but they have sold out in a flash. An open front cardigan is a great capsule wardrobe piece as is this slinky wrap-detail top from Velvet. Natalie x

Uptown, downtown that’s where we’re taking our skirts this season. From below the knee to midi-length (that’s just hitting the calf) summer is long and languid. A full skirt + longer length gives a great proportion balancing act even if you feel like your legs have been chopped in 3/4. Nothing that a pair of heels can’t solve. Take a full-bloom and dress it up or down. Obviously it’s still freezing out there so spring’s sprigs need a cosy cashmere in a slinky slim fit for a bit of evening glamour. Layer up with faux-fur and style with a stud detail accessory. Every rose needs it thorn after all. Feeling breezier as we edge our way towards spring (soon I promise) keep your florals flirty with a soft blush. Create a bit of city chic cred with one of our favourite wardrobe essentials: the denim jacket. Invest in a cool tan sandal or wedge. It will be your go-to shoe for the season. Natalie x
