2017-07-24-One-look-RTWe love the luxurious textures of satin and velvet and what a better way to partner the two than in an upscaled casual look. These mules with velvety pompoms from Topshop take slipper-chic to a new level whilst this embellished night-to-day bag by Aldo makes a great all season accessory. Style with a humble denim shirt dress for an alternative twist. Natalie x

If you’re shy of a floral print or two look for a dress with a navy or black background to toughen up all that girliness. The great thing about a floral print is that you can take your style from day to night. Wear this must-have Whistles dress with a pair of white trainers and a cross-body bag for the perfect weekend look with friends. If it’s still cold style with a black ankle boot and opaques. For evening switch-up your accessories with a metallic heel and this bright coloured 24/7 bag picks up on one of the colour-accents of your dress. Natalie x

If you’re looking in your wardrobe thinking “I’ve got nothing to wear”, there’s no need to go out on a shopping spree – unless of course you want to. Think of ways to rework those staples, like a pair of day-to-night tailored black trousers, with a trend update. Tops are a great way to dabble in a catwalk mood especially since this season sleeves are all about statement details. This piece from Zara combines a nod to the sleeve trend as well as spring summer’s take on all things striped. Don’t stop there. Make a bit of noise with your earrings. Suddenly those staples have taken on a new style life of their own, haven’t they? Natalie x

Party, party, party. From office dinners to Christmas cocktails start thinking about upscaling those perfect figure-flattering shifts into all manner of reincarnations for the festive season. There is something fabulously understated but hugely chic about a soft pink for winter. Here I’ve styled sit with one of those must-have lightweight tweed biker jackets from Zara. This is the type of piece that really should become a Zara all year round staple on the shop floor and in your wardrobe too. Add a slinky patent stiletto court and dove grey snakeskin clutch and you’re dinner-date ready. Combining pale pink, deep berries and gold gives a moody retro feel to your look. Think art deco diva. Top it all of with a pile of faux-fur and the night is yours. Natalie x

Denim, denim, everywhere and I don’t mean jeans. You’re going to be seeing a lot of these loose-ish tunic style dresses in the new fabric of the new season. Don’t you just love all this newness! These pieces were already creeping into stores last year and you can buy now, wear now and wear later. Here’s how. Bundle up in über-stylish layers and finish off your casual wintry looks with a pair of Isabel Marant (or those inspired by) high heel cowboy boots. Yes you read that correctly. Saint Laurent already did slinkier stiletto versions of these last season and Marant’s style is ever so slightly bank and run-around friendlier. The great thing about these crisp little denim dresses is that when it comes to the summer they are the ideal holiday must-have for a lunch al fresco somewhere exotic. Natalie x

QUESTION: I usually wear these boots with jeans but I would like a skirt or dress to wear with them, and I have short legs.

ANSWER: These fab boots will look great with lots of different pieces and will make the perfect statement item.

1. Monsoon dress, £59: – These boots are great because they can dress an outfit both up or down, and therefore become a staple piece in your wardrobe. For a more casual look with a smart element, wear the boots with a relaxed piece like this jersey swing dress from Monsoon. The loose fitting skirt will skim over your hips and tummy and the attached statement necklace will draw the eye upwards. Make sure the length sits around the knee or just above to avoid any awkward cut offs which make your legs look shorter:

2. Banana Republic dress (petite), £69.50: – A classic wrap dress is always the best wardrobe staple as it can be so versatile. Banana Republic has an amazing petite range which is definitely worth taking a look at, and they have some great wrap dresses in different colours and prints. A chic and timeless black dress will always stand the test of time however, so here is just one of their many wonderful pieces which will look fab with your boots- add a tailored jacket for a “put together” look, and wear with a plain cami underneath if the neckline is a little low:

3. Ted Baker skirt, £99: – Depending on your own unique style and tastes you could mix and match a couple of prints for a fun look, however if you prefer to stick with a more classic image, keep the rest of your outfit plain and simple and let your boots (and possibly accessories) do the talking. This deep green skirt is perfect for the upcoming autumn/winter months, and would look great teamed with a tucked in shirt or blouse, your boots, and a cosy cardi, or even with a chunky knit jumper. This shape is great as it won’t hug your hips:

4. M&S dress (petite), £49.50: – A pop of colour is always welcome in the everyday wardrobe. We love this bright number from the M&S petite range which is a lovely way to channel this season’s zesty shade trend, and is the perfect structured look. Ria x
