Blend day-to-night accessories with a show-stopping dress for multi-outfit choices. Don’t think that just because it’s lace and red it’s solely an evening piece. The heavier structured lace and more demure style means you can switch around your accessories for an ultra-chic day or holiday look. Portofino anyone?! Tan or a neutral sandy shade gives a great summery feel to red. Go for a top-to-toe tonal look with a mix of textures. Vamp it up by night. Play with textures again and added embellishment. Natalie x

If you can find that one dress that keeps you cosy by day and super-stylish by night it will become one of the most worn items of clothing in your wardrobe this winter. I’m not talking super glitzy or a major designer either. As I write I am wearing a stretchy bodycon jersey dress that I bought from Topshop a few years ago. I’ve styled it with my trusty biker boots and an oversized faux-fur scarf from Zara. When the chill sets in this dress comes out. By night I will whip on a pair of killer heels, snap up a clutch, hang on to the fur, add some bling and I’m good to go. This grey dress by Whistles will do just the same. It looks deceptively simple… but it’s not …You have options! Natalie x

QUESTION: I am looking for some casual and also smarter but stylish ideas (for a creative work office) for this Topshop dress I bought.

ANSWER: A little black dress – whether it is a tailored/fitted shift or a softer body skimming jersey dress is the ideal blank canvas to dress up or down. You can wear this so many ways. Here are some ideas with pieces you can switch around from casual to smart-casual looks:

1. Mint Velvet biker gilet £119: –  The stretchy jersey fabric and flattering twist front knot detail gives this dress a great sporty feel which is an ideal way to think about wearing this for more casual looks such as pairing it with a denim or bomber jacket. This biker style gilet is on trend for this season and gives a contemporary feel to outfits:

2. Adidas trainers £70: – Invest in a pair of fashion trainers. The latest Celine s/s16 show styled cool trainers with smarter flowing trousers elevating them to a more formal status. You’ll never look at a pair of Nike or Adidas in the same way. Go for one of the classic styles in a neutral tone or opt for a vibrant fun animal print or bold bright:

3. Topshop bag £40: –  Have a bit of fun with your accessories. An oversized clutch bag will double as the perfect day bag if you are not prone to carrying your whole life in your bag. Faux-fur is a fun way to dress things up and this faux pony hair bag in a wild shade is a great way to jazz up an LBD by day for a great casual weekend look:

4. Faith shoes £49: – For your creative work environment, dress things up with a stylish lace-up sandal or court (take your pic). Don’t forget that your on-trend trainers will be the perfect ‘travel shoe’: –

5. Mango blazer £69.99: – A white blazer will add polish to any look and whether you are going out for a dinner date or want to look ultra-chic at work or simply spruce up a casual look, this jacket ticks all the boxes:

6. Karen Millen bag £145: – This is a smart day bag and a good alternative to a roomier tote. It also gives your smart-casual looks a bit more edge. For evening simply swap this bag for your clutch:

7. H&M earrings £6.99: – A little bit of bling never hurt anyone and these earrings will look great by day or night, smart or casual:

QUESTION: Hi Stylists! I have just bought this Topshop khaki jumpsuit £60, and wondered what you would suggest to wear with it for a work look or a casual daytime look? Really looking forward to hearing your advice! Thank you!

ANSWERS: Thanks for getting in touch! Your new jumpsuit is gorgeous and I’m sure we can find lots of ways to style it up for different occasions.

1. French Connection, Top £35:– Layering is key for the up and coming autumn season so grab a roll neck like this in either the white or the black to wear under your jumpsuit. Style with a vintage gold watch and some pumps for a day in a creative work environment.

2. Topshop, Shoes £62:- These kitten heels are literally perfect for the office they are smart enough and low heeled enough to carry you through the day. Khaki is the perfect partner to shades such as white, stone, tan and especially the colour palette of these shoes. And not forgetting this lace up style is fashion gold right now.

3. H&M, Trainers £29.99:- I’m always glad when I remember trainers are super in right now and these skate shoes are a happy medium, dressing your jumpsuit down whilst remaining uber stylish.

4. Zara, Jacket £39.99:- Biker jackets are a wardrobe staple they are the throw-on-and-go essential for casual cool. This style from Zara has a slim fit and asymmetric zip detail. Team with skate shoes for weekends, shopping and afternoons at the pub. SarahA x

It’s a perfect pairing that at first doesn’t look so perfect. A little twist of clever layering and you can take those summery dresses from sunshine and strappy sandal days to these current now-it’s-raining-now-it’s-not days. First off the footwear. Add brogues to the ever-expanding list of must-have autumn footwear styles. All this white does give a Great Gatsby style air to this outfit so when it comes to layering your look go for something completely out of the blue. Like this camouflage print lightweight denim jacket. (As a camo alternative you could style with one of those on-trend check shirts – if you do opt for a more oversized style to get that jacket effect.) Drape it over your shoulders worn open like all those street-style fashionistas. If this is completely impractical then simply wear it open. Like the rest of us. For a final touch add a ladylike quilt cross-body bag and paparazzi friendly sunnies. Natalie x

1.Reiss dress £180, 2. Chloé sunglasses £211, 3. Topshop jacket £38, 4. M&S bag £29.50, 5. ASOS shoes £35

So you might be in beach-to-bar mode but what with the fabulous new season stock swimming into stores as we speak even if you are you can plot your return to the busier you with fashionable aplomb. Dress codes have become a lot fluider thanks to the great selection of work-to-dinner pieces out there. Instead of a basic tailored shift look for something that has modern detailing but is still apt. This LK Bennet dress does everything it needs to and more. That luscious blue is a good alternative to a sombre black or grey and stylish detailing adds that something new to your fabulous blue. Whether you are in a formal corporate work environment or can give your wardrobe a more creative spin this dress will work either scenario. What’s more slip into a metallic strappy sandal, add a print clutch and statement earrings and you’ve got a Saturday night dinner perfectly covered. Natalie x
