Layer up in khaki with this light weight parka jacket which will double up as the perfect travel companion. When it comes to jeans it’s all about the high waist this season. This rise gives a sculpted effect to a roomier fit boyfriend or straight leg jean, whilst really vamping up the shape-boosting effect of jeans. Wear with a loose fit t-shirt draped in at the waist. QUESTION: What can I wear for a Winter walk in the country?

ANSWER: Every now and then we all need a good dose of fresh air and what better way than with a long country winter walk dressed in cosy warm clothes! With this in mind, we’ve picked a few great options we think you’ll love:

1. Jaeger jeans, £89: – A fab fitting pair of jeans are an absolute wardrobe must. A slim leg is the best style for you, and shading down the front creates a slimmer and leg lengthening illusion, instantly giving a flattering finish. Team with sneakers for daytime errands, ankle or knee boots throughout the winter and ballet flats or loafers for when the weather gets warmer:

2. J.Crew jumper, £118: – As you mentioned purple is your favourite colour to wear, we could’t help but put this gorgeous knitted roll neck into the mix. Ideal for those cold frosty December days as well as family and friend get-together’s over the festive period:

3. COS jumper, £59: – If you fancy adding some pattern to your outfit, try this knit by COS – a winter nod to the classic breton stripe t-shirt:

4. French Connection coat, £140: – A winter coat is a real investment piece as you’ll wear is for several years in a row, so a good quality fabric is always a worthwhile purchase. Choose a versaile colour that will complement everything in your wardrobe – black can be harsh against the skin, so we’d opt for grey, navy or this camel toned option. The slim fit creates a gorgeous silhouette and looks lovely over casual daytime clothes as well as workwear and evening wear:

5. Dune boots, now £84: – English weather is so unpredictable that you could start your walk with blue skies and sunshine, yet within an hour, you can never trust that there won’t be rainfall! Be safer than sorry with a pair of flat heeled long boots. Leather is better than suede as it’s wipe clean and water won’t get through. Dune always has a fantastic range that are hard wearing, plus the comfortability factor is always key!

6. Reiss scarf, £75: – A gorgeous fur stole is the perfect accompaniment to your outfit, it’ll keep you warm and stylish and can also be worn inside if you stop en-route for a glass of mulled wine:

7. Dents gloves, £65: – Cold hands can make your whole body feel icy, so wrap up with a pair of classic, chic black leather gloves. Karen x

QUESTION: I really struggle to find dresses to fit – I suit 1950’s style, but its not great to wear ever day! Any ideas? ANSWER: Actually the flattering fit-and-flare style of a 50’s style dress is perfect for every day wear if you just shop for more casual as opposed to evening feel dresses. How you style and accessorise will also give these retro shapes a more paired back day look.

1. Gap dress now £37.99: As I said dresses with a fit-and-flare shape or a full skirt will give you that instant 50’s flavour. This cotton shirt dress is a perfect modern take on the look and ideal for a casual day outfit or work. You can style this with anything from trainers to a summery wedge to a slingback court depending on the occasion. Add a gold strand necklace for a bit of day time glamour: thumbnail-2665026-35683762. Karen Millen dress £170: This piece is a real high summer number. Again the shirt-dress detailing gives this more of a daytime feel but you could just as easily style with a gold sandal and clutch bag for an evening or occasion look. Add a cropped denim jacket and oversized sunglasses: thumbnail-2709788-3646790 3. Antipodium dress £129: Fresh and breezy this chic pink candy stripe piece is the perfect summer dress. The belt detail adds an extra dose of waist definition:

4. Oasis jacket £45: When thinking about pieces to layer over your dresses, introduce (if you don’t already have) one of these casual capsule wardrobe must-haves. Firstly a denim jacket is an easy-to-wear lightweight cover up that will also travel well when thinking about holiday packing: thumbnail-2688167-3600195 5. Mango jacket £119.99: Another key capsule wardrobe piece is the biker jacket. It will give your retro dresses a modern spin and work a dream with those jeans looks or smart casual evening looks. A new clutch is always a great way to scratch that “I really feel like shopping itch” as well as updating any look. Make sure that you have a versatile go-with-anything piece in a black or gold that will carry you through all seasons. After that, consider the clutch your new accessory in the same way that you would a pair of earrings or print scarf. It’s the perfect way to introduce a pattern to your outfit – think leopard print – or a new season shade…or a fabulous quirky touch – think fruit. The novelty clutch is having its moment in the sun thanks to the likes of Anya Hindmarch and Charlotte Olympia. The high street has also got your fashion fruit basket covered! A slice of watermelon will work your outfits day-to-night. Which way will you go? Natalie x

1. Charlotte Olympia bag £525, 2. New Look bag £12.99

There are some fabulous spring knits out there on the high street at the moment. Don’t just think jumpers but also knit tops like this piece from COS. I love the 3/4 length bell sleeve style with a rushed detail. It’s a modern and structural take on all things 70s without being too floaty and boho. The volume in the sleeve is perfectly balanced out with a pair of skinny or slim fit jeans. Alternatively you could mirror this shape with a flared jean. For evening these slightly draped and tapered trousers will loosen things up adding a slinkier mood to the look. This is a gorgeous green so use your clutch bags to add fun and contrasting patterns and colour and metallic jewellery for day-to-night glamour. Natalie x

QUESTION: I’m looking for a capsule wardrobe to take to Florence for a long weekend in late spring.

ANSWER: Your trip to Florence sounds wonderful, in late spring the weather should be just perfect! If you take a look at your Dressipi Fashion Fingerprint, you’ll see which style suit you best and why. For you it’s about accentuating your enviable figure with waist enhancing garments which draw the eye to your slimmest part. With this in mind we’ve chosen a selection of items for your capsule wardrobe we think you’re going to love:

1. Gap dress, £49.95: – A shirt dress is ideal for a city trip; sleeves that can be rolled up, shirt neck can be opened if the weather is warm and a belted waist that shows of your gorgeous frame. You mentioned you like to conceal your legs, so we’ve gone for a knee length style in an easy to wear khaki shade:

2. Zara trousers, £35.99: – Lightweight trousers are wonderfully useful for walking around cities as the breathable fabric is cooling and won’t cling. A neutral shade is easy to pair coloured tops with, so pack a selection of patterned and block coloured T’s:

3. Jaeger top, £49: – For day to night chic, navy always looks timeless and classic. As one of your favourite shops is Jaeger, we’ve selected this patterned sleeveless top that can be teamed with the Zara trousers – just add a piece of statement jewellery for evening glam: garment-2142914-2643314

4. White Stuff blouse, £37.50: – As well as t-shirts and tops, we’d suggest packing a cotton blouse as it rolls easily into your bag and doesn’t need ironing: garment-2472796-3201596

5. Ancient Greek Sandals, £96.58: – A comfortable pair of sandals are a must-have for every wardrobe. Metallic flats are the easiest way to add a bit of shimmer into your look without going overboard, plus gold and silver shoes really do go with everything! Pair with the shirt dress, neutral trousers or your favourite jeans:

6. Topshop blazer, £45: – Add instant chic to your look with a casual blazer, it’s such a simple way of smartening up your ensemble. Wear on the plane to cover your arms from the air con and then use throughout the trip during your cool evenings:

7. Jigsaw sweater, now £59 : – For daytime, we’d always advise having one sweater that can be worn with everything in your case. Navy would be the most obvious colour to go for as it compliments the Zara trousers as well as the Gap dress. Pop it over the shoulders and let the arms hand loose for a casual, elegant look: garment-2305247-2923492

8. Whistles jeans, £67.24: – If you don’t already own a pair of jeans you love, now is the time to buy! A slim straight leg is ideal for you, so we’ve picked a pair by Whistles with shading down the leg which create a flattering look. Choose a style where the ankles can be rolled up, perfect for springtime sunshine and pop on either strappy sandals or flat pumps:

9. Lola Rose necklace, £49: – Take one or two beautiful pieces of jewellery with you and alternate depending on the outfit. We adore this long beaded necklace as it can be wrapped around twice to sit in the neck of a dress, or worn loose over the blouse and navy top. Alternatively a pair of drop earrings will look lovely for dinner:garment-2422870-3110335

10. Banana Republic bag, £89.50: – Lastly, complete your capsule wardrobe with a stylish shoulder bag. Soft leather wears beautifully with age so it’s definitely worth investing in a good bag that can be used as your carry-on luggage as well as sightseeing throughout your trip:

We hope this has given some fashion inspiration, have a fabulous time away and let us know how you get on. Karen x
