An ivory blazer or tuxedo jacket is a fabulous weekend-to-wedding-guest piece. Shape up denim looks with a bit of sharp tailoring and add a coloured or print flat to this monochrome look. Natalie x

2017-03-03-one-look-rtChunky knits are just what the weather ordered this weekend. Something cosy but perfectly chic. We love this hint of a breton stripe knit from M&S. Style with slim or straight leg jeans to complement the volume. There’s a 60’s style feel to these black flats from Topshop and they’ll also work a dream come next winter too with a little denim mini skirt, opaque tights and a faux-fur cropped jacket. Speaking of chunky knits you might also like this pink striped piece from Miss Selfridge £28, or this grey cable knit by Fat Face £25Natalie x

Fashion’s gone back to the 80’s which is not entirely a bad thing especially if you pick out a few consumer friendly pieces. Like a slinky stiletto court. It’s the perfect little pick me up to a sleek and chic jeans look. You’ll find similar fabulous bright red suede styles at Mango £35.99 and Whistles £140. You could switch your statement courts for a statement chandelier earring instead to channel that 80s power vibe …or do both! Bright colours add a contemporary touch to a slinky day-to-night knit dress. This piece would look just as fabulous styled with stiletto heeled patent courts as it does with these run-around essentials. Try a cropped length if you want a biker jacket update. A moc-croc shoulder bag gives a hint of ladylike and is the perfect piece to dress up jeans looks. Natalie x

Embroidery and appliqué are livening up our must-have wardrobe basics, from bright floral needlepoint on shoes and biker jackets to cute and cheeky patchwork appliqué on denim and outerwear. These details give a softer edge to tougher pieces. It’s like wearing an emoji. Whilst admittedly this Alice + Olivia parka costs a bomb I couldn’t resist showing it to you. You can achieve the same effect with your own parka – just add badges £6! But, you’ll also find some fabulous pieces on the high street like this badge detail coat from V by Very £60. They have a longer style too at £70. River Island has gone wild with floral embroidery, and all those blooms give a pretty blush to this khaki coat £48.

The details don’t stop here. Criss-cross ties, ribbons, corsets, you name it…all the pieces to give a cheeky twist to your favourite investment cashmere jumpers. Looking to the high street I am still on Zara’s wish list for these tie-front jumpers both in black £25.99 and a breton stripe. Go on, join me. I first saw these boots on thelondoner.com and that’s why they are here now – the perfect weekend style. Natalie x

Before you relegate your favourite hoody or sweat top to gym gear or general lounging about the house gear…stop. Upscale one of athleisure’s favourite pieces with a bit of tailoring. This longer line pinstripe jacket from H&M has a borrowed-from-the-boys feel. Whilst it is tailored it has more of a roomier fit – perfect for throwing over a bulkier top. Leave the hood to drape over the collar at the back. Take inspiration from all things Chanel with this jewelled tweed trainer-skate shoe hybrid. They give a glitzy girly spin to this perfect weekend look. Natalie x

2017-01-27-one-look-rtOversized duvet dressing is just the thing for these sub-zero temperatures we’ve suddenly been experiencing. Luckily there are some gorgeous takes on this cumbersome but cosy sounding trend. New Look has some fabulous oversized cropped puffa jackets in every colour from cobalt blue to moody burgundy. This boxy shorter style gives a neat ‘n sweat feel. Remember to balance out volume with a slimmer fit jean or trouser. Statement cuffs are still going strong and this jumper combines a sort of newish trend with a wardrobe staple – the horizontal stripe. I like these Topshop sunglasses. They feel very Tom Ford but at a snip of the price. There are still some good deals to be had in the sales, these Dune boots are timeless, and that slinky stiletto heel will style up one of your favourite day dresses for a chic evening look. Natalie x
